Perkins is a multifaceted educational and human service provider that helps people at all stages of life. Its flagship institution, the Dr. Franklin Perkins School in Lancaster, Massachusetts is renowned for its day and residential programs for children and adolescents with emotional and mental health needs. Perkins also operates adult services programs at several satellite locations and a mental health group practice.
New Campus Center
RP Masiello was engaged to lead the design/build effort for the Janeway Educational Center at the Lancaster campus. The center’s defining architectural element is a three-story central tower with a 360-degree illuminated glass feature that shines across the campus like a lighthouse guiding students along their own journey of educational and social development.
The new Janeway Center houses classrooms, a library, an auditorium for 200 and a full-service cafeteria. The center was completed with minimal disruption to campus operations. It’s the highest profile element of our 25-year-plus relationship with Perkins that spans numerous building and renovation projects, including a fitness center, an assisted living facility, a child daycare center and an adult daycare center.
